Tam Tam The Sandwich Man & The Magical Sugar Cookies
If Orlando were the city it pretends to be Uncle Lou’s would be our CBGB’s.s From the ease of booking to the pure mystery as to how a place like this even exists. We felt it was only right to start our quest for culture outside the shadow of mouse ears at the city’s most honest scum pit.
Uni-Bomber’s first and maybe only show. It was new and I like the message but first shows are first shows and I would be excited to see this evolve into a tight band. But with the attention span of the masses now a days bands are lucky if they last a week before everybody gets bored.
Sterling and his Chosen Ones were spot on it was my first time seeing him backed by a band and electric. I found his sound and songs just felt better played like a rock and roll band.
Lagues were dope as always. New songs. New Energy. New hope for sending the next 9 days on the road with one of our favorite bands.
Us. We had fun. People danced. I remember at one point it got pretty hot. We play “when you find out” by The Nerves for the first time live. There was new and old faces and we were excited and having the time of our lives.
After the show there was the after party which happens alot but this time it felt different a last night in town is always a good night in town. And we had plenty of old friends and new ones to wish us luck on our adventure to parts we have never been too before. Oh yeah people passed out with their shoes on they got drawn on its the rules. The phrase of the night “Homo - Sasa!” Then sometime late I passed out.
Thats right folks. Tam Tam The Sandwich Man & The Magical Sugar Cookies are embarking on their first tour. They are set to play a hometown favorite Uncle Lou’s on Decemeber 1st. Then from there they are going to travel north on a quest for culture in the american south.
The new album by Orlando’s own Tam Tam The Sandwich Man & The Magical Sugar Cookies “They Grow Meat” which has been available since Oct. 9th on cassette only is now up on Itunes. This is Godless America Records’s second release. Its a great record and everybody should own it. It was recorded on a Tascam 235 4-track cassette machine in a blistering 6 hours. All songs where live tracked some in just one take. The record was engineered by Owen of Where Wolf? and produced by Jordan Duttinger. The cassette version is on yellow cassette and is part of a split with Studebaker Hawk also from Orlando.

“Murderers”
What have plants done to you
that you find them so easy to consume?
Have you ever stepped in cow shit?
It’s a menial inconvenience
but I cant think of one problem caused by lettuce.
Are you sure they’re not silently screaming
while their chlorophyll blood stains your teeth?
Do you feel no remorse swallowing the ovaries
that left to their own accord would produce a hundred new trees?
Is it cause their different?
Oh so different from you and I
because their square cell walls cannot begin to cry
anytime someone mentions Heinz.
MURDERERS! MURDERERS! YOU’RE ALL FUCKING MURDERERS!!!!!!!!
Is it the druidic blood in my veins
that makes me feel this way
or am I just a little bit insane
to be so sick to my stomach at this vegetarian craze?
Can you produce oxygen while breathing
or keep the soil from washing away
or make sugar from the sun’s rays?
I didn’t think so.
So the next time you think you’re doing right
by sparing a methane producing animals life
I beg of you to think twice
in the hopes that you might begin to realize
that you are only a victim of PETA’s dessert of lies.
I for one am contemplating suicide
for I refuse to live in this world where innocent plant have to die.
“Spring Fling”
Verse I:
Here I am sittin at the coffee shop
and I don’t know what to do
Don’t know if I should but I’d
really like to talk to you
But you’re not here so I’m sittin by the phone
dark scenarios in my mind
Don’t know if I should call you
or if I’d just be wastin time.
Chorus:
I saw you in the parking lot
hangin out at a distance
that’s where we met on the edges
of other peoples conversations
I don’t know what I want
and you don’t know what you want
but what we both wantis something new
Verse II:
I saw you from across the theatre
you were dancing to a tune
I was sittin in my chair and thinking
how nice it’d be to dance with you
but I’m too shy for an outspoken person
to come and say hello
so I wait till I get home and send a message
cause I thought you’d like to know.
Chorus:
I saw you from the parking lot
hangin out at a distance
that’s where we met on the edges
of other peoples conversations
I don’t know what I want
and you don’t know what you want
but what we both want
is something new
“Night Number 15 in Random Apt.”
Verse I:
Time is subject to perception
life is fleeting and vague
Living is a series of circles
Everyone’s just running in place
And father sun and the mother earth
Are just fabrications of the mind
And all the most powerful gestures
Are all contained inside a smile
Chorus I:
All the beautiful people
Drowning in their bottles
Trying in vain to escape the pain
Of living in uncertainty
So many people
Stuck to their needles
Hoping to find inside of their minds
A hidden world of serenity
Verse II:
Faith is ground in mysticism
The power to love an hate
Fostered by the person behind the pulpit
So comfortable with more than one face
And the laws of men are empty
Founded in ignorance
Timelessness will overwhelm
Words penned with arrogance
Chorus II:
All the holy people
Sheltered by their steeples
Hiding behind all of the lies
For the promise of immunity
So many people
selling their fables
Preaching hate for heavens gate
In the name of democracy
“Zen and the Art of Bicycle Maintenance”
Verse I:
Come on everybody we can get together
Hang out in the sweatshirt weather
Yeah baby it’ll be all better
Soon as we go outside
We can pretend to be snakes
Sliding through the tall grass
We can do whatever it takes
Just to have a blast
Chorus:
Life is like riding a bike
Against the wind
The more you push
The more the world gives in
You never notice this inside of your cars
Verse II:
Come on everybody we can get together
Hang out in the t-shirt weather
Yeah baby it’ll be all better
Soon as we go for a ride
Our hearts and our feet
They belong on the same beat
From our cars we could be free
To be whatever we want to be
Chorus:
Life is like riding a bike
Against the wind
The more you push
The more the world gives in
You never notice this inside of your cars
“Jezebel”
Verse I:
Jezebel she couldn’t tell
That the world don’t believe in love
Can’t marry the Queen the way you are you see
Your heart means nothing
When woke I heard that she spoke
about her soul
Everything is looks today you got stay away
from the shadows
And she said.
Chorus:
Everything in the west today is a lie
There is no one this world
Who knows how much I’ve cried
I feel this burning inside of my heart
But love like this is killed
Before it starts.
Verse II:
Jezebel the worlds her cell
society the bars
And everything she’s ever felt deep within herself
is cause for alarm
And today it seems you cannot live your dreams
you got to throw it all away
When you can’t feel love life becomes so tough
you can her say
Chorus:
Everything in the west today is a lie
There is no one this world
Who knows how much I’ve cried
I feel this burning inside of my heart
But love like this is killed
Before it starts.
“Nina’s song”
so now we take a look back in time
to a place where you’re in my
my room checking out my new
selection made with care
and when you see hairs grow on hairs
they fall out and burst into flames
and we’ll sit back for just one day
and watch the world fucking fade away
Now Im scared
i cant see anyone
whos to care if we’re there or if we’re not
and i find it hard to see that the rest
was the best you could get
am i correct?
that’s upsetting
You, you came to me with yourself
In your hands pleeding please
and how could ut one resist
when theres hope for peace?
and if we live till we get old
then i’d say ‘Im getting bored’
but until then we’ll have this time
we’ll have this time to move on
Now I’m scared
I can’t see anymore
who’s to care
what we shared or what we ignored?
and i find it hardt o see that the rest
was the best you could get
am i correct?
that’s upsetting.
“Scabadoo”
Verse I:
Here I am in the land of the free
Wallowing in my own self induced misery
And this heartless corrupt government
Is only my interpretation of the environment
Only my perception of this endless element
An effort to understand humanity and life
By examining the depths of my own mind
Forever losing touch with the counting of time
Just so I can fully enjoy this experience before I die
Chorus:
And the world keeps turning
like it has before and will again
The steam is rising off a placid lake
As the collective unconscious is yearning for change
Polluted by fevered egos who’ve yet to experience what they cannot understand
Through violence fear and aggression they try to take what they cant and oppress what they can
Verse II:
One part’s not as big as the whole
But the whole can never speak for an individual
Numbers cannot be relevant if not known
Only fools adhere to ideals that are not their own
Changeless beliefs are the seeds of ignorance sewn
Mercy and compassion are the only things worth feeling
Selfless love is the only way to bring about peace
Understanding of others is the only way to be
It’s the only way to feel the feeling of being truly free
Chorus:
And the world keeps turning
like it has before and will again
The steam is rising off a placid lake
As the collective unconscious is yearning for change
Polluted by fevered egos who’ve yet to experience what they cannot understand
Through violence fear and aggression they try to take what they cant and oppress what they can
